MARIANNE FOULGER RESEARCH REPORT
#8324L
28 May 1985

Using as a base the information from "The Genealogieal Tree, Ten
Generations of the BOARDMAN Family" and other information you supplied, the
Family Group Record Archive of the LDS Church Genealogical Lidrary was con-
sulted for all ancestors of Edward Gookin MACK (1:8). Considering the volume
of names involved in such a search it is not surprising that the bulk of the
time allotted was spent in this leg of the research (Doc. 1). Time permitted
an investigation of a well-referenced, published GOOKIN genealogy (Doc. 3) and
the skimming of a BOARDMAN gemnealogy (Doc. 4).
Because of the locations and time period involved with this family the

Archive was the logical first step ln research, to indicate what previous
genelogists [sic] have uncovered as well as to obtain temple ordinance data on the
individuals. The Archive, however, does not enjoy a reputation For extreme
accuracy and documentation, It does provide however, an extremely good lead
for research. Inforsation from the Archive should not be blindly accepted
without other proofs. But we have made some good extensions on the pedigree,
most of which appear to be accurate.

William MACK (7:1)

Regarding the MACK Family, the Archive has not yet been helpful but several
published genealogies exist, some for the New York area. NOne of these have
yet been examined. Their prospects for more detailed information on this family
are good, especially 1f it ties in with the line of Lucy MACK, mother to the
prophet Joseph SMITH.
